The thread of Threapland Gill......both severs, it seems, and sews a seam, as the bridge tucks in the loose end to beckon Threapland folk across. The east bank remains the fringe of elsewhere, a delightful dichotomy serving to preserve and emphasise the meaning in a name.....Read more on.....
Feeder of The Ellen, Threapland Gill, known also as The Popple, ran bloody on 30-1-1649, (so said), the day a king was executed. It wasn't red on 4-11-2009, see photos 1 & 2.
You could have 'seen' photos 3 & 4.. same gill, same redless day, just 15 short of 19th November, Great Cumbrian Flood Day. Diane was in Workington that day, Gene in Cockermouth, so no 19-11 pics from them of Threapland Gill. But wet, or dry the gill politically splits,

persuasion. Threapland people lean Plumbland-wise...it seemeth!
Welcome back, ....if you've been on W&W, to which you might want to return! Fing is, D/G is/are trying to get you 2 swarm all over this web-thingy, 'n' if you don't ... well, you might find Plumbland a tad complex. R U in Plumbland, or not if you stand on the mid-fall rocks in these pics? If not, where R U, especially if U fall off? Ans. is here and on W&W. Take a look!
The Bridge over Threapland Gill, 5 from upstream, 6&7 from downstream. You walk from Threapland into Plumbland or In fact the result is the same if you run, hop, crawl, or adopt any other means of locomotion. But....is passion more intense, more sensual, if illicit? If so it's a good reason for not bringing Threapland into Plumbland's parish, as some want...to the destruction of the sheer beauty and elegance of the bound indifferent bond that manifestly exists. Love you, Threapland!

Threapland has what Plumbland has not...a Village Green. Also has unadulterated village signs.... sans... "Don't Drive Daftly" appendages, (DDD, or 3D), as in "discussed at length" by Parish Councillor-(ette)-s.
What you see crossing
above bridge exiting
Plumbland. So far
village sign not
corrupted with
advice to
motorists.
